BB's Big Dig

27th June 2017

Eco Warriors

Here at Bishop Bridgeman we value the environment we work in and the world we live in. We’re especially proud to have a team of Eco Warriors in charge of our environment to make sure we create a healthy habitat for our learning, as well as for local wildlife. The Eco warriors meet every Thursday to Garden, pick litter and think about how to reduce waste!

The Big Dig

One of our first objectives was to increase the amount of natural plant and wildlife at our school, so we organized the school’s very first Big Dig! We prepared the soil and planted a wide range of plants to ensure that bugs, birds and children were happy on our school grounds. The day was a massive success and we’ve already planned our next one in May 2018!

Eco Schools

Here at BB we are ambitious, which is why we’re aiming to achieve the internationally recognized Eco-Schools Green Flag award. To earn this, we’re aiming to receive Bronze and Silver status in the near future and our Eco Warriors are doing all they can to make this a certainty. Visit http://eco-schools.org.uk/howitworks/the-awards/green-flag-award/ to see what our checklist is to achieve the Green Flag award.

If you want to get involved, speak to Mrs Hafeji, Mr Ryan or Mrs Waddington to see how you can help make our school the most eco friendly it can be!
